The NIH is the primary source of federal funding for the genetics consortia and cohort studies this team participates in, including MAGIC, TOPMed, and DIAMANTE.

American Diabetes Association (ADA)
ADA funding supports two active lines of work: the study of host genetics underlying diabetes and COVID-19 severity, and the characterization of beta-cell function and sulfonylurea response in people at the extremes of genetic risk.

Boston Area Diabetes Endocrinology Research Center (BADERC)
Dr. Leong serves on BADERC’s Executive Committee as Associate Director, and directs its Pilot and Feasibility Program and the BADERC-Broad Collaborative Grant Program. BADERC’s Pilot and Feasibility Program helped fund the team’s work on genetics and A1C-glycemia mismatch.
